Mount Beauty - Extreme to Serene
Nestled at the foot of Mt Bogong in the glorious Kiewa Valley of North East Victoria, is the peaceful township of Mount Beauty. Surrounded on all sides by high mountains, Mount Beauty is a spectacular holiday destination that has something for anyone seeking adventure, rest or romance.
From its humble beginnings in the 1940s as a housing estate for construction workers on the Kiewa Hydro Electric Scheme, Mount Beauty has grown into a beloved tourist destination. These days it is base camp for extreme athletes and a peaceful haven for those seeking more idyllic pursuits like walking, fishing, bowls, boating and golf. Hang-gliders and para-gliders dot the skyscape in the summer months and there are mountain bike tracks, BMX tracks and a skateboard park.
Whether you want extreme thrills or gentle relaxation, Mount Beauty ticks all the boxes for a memorable experience in one of the country’s most picturesque destinations.
